When i think of the body and its organs, i see delicate, fragile and natural. In the past whenever i have an ailment or was unwell, i would immediately rush to the doctors and usually it turned out to be something minor. “Have some rest, take pain relief if you get any pain and, drink lots of fluids’’ the doctor would always say. On 3 occasions i have had medication besides pain relief in the past 14 years

In the last 5-6 years, i gradually weaned myself off ibuprofen onto paracetamol, then completely off that. However, there is some pain relief tucked somewhere in the house but my mind is completely blanked from that as am now drawn to plant oils for any ailment or condition i need relief from.

For headaches, i used peppermint oil in the past but now CBD oil has taken over ( a drop or two on my head or where the ache is and the job is done. I had terrible menstrual pain a few months back and i took 3 drops of the 750g CBD oil. It went straight to the pain.

The amazing thing about this plant oil is that it not only relieves pain, but it targets and heals most ailments and conditions. I will be posting an image immediately in my next post with more testimonies from me –



Can you remember the very first time you had an ache in your head? The most common aches in the body are in the head, and rightfully so, since it is right at the top of your body.  Let me give a very brief introduction to my headache journey. The headaches i have had and still have occasionally, are attributive to common colds and flu, period pains, lack of sleep and stress. These are the popular kinds of headaches. At one time i thought a migraine and stress headache was the same, but apparently, a migraine headache could range from mild to severe and even lead people to A &E. I have probably had this one-sided kind of a headache a couple of times in my life, but only on the mild side. I call this journey exciting because whenever i had a headache i would just pop paracetamol or panadol in my mouth and then for the more stronger pains, Nurofen would suffice. When i started becoming more health conscious, i told myself “i am going to change medication” guess what i changed to?  Ibuprofen!!

They are in the same category right. Very dumb move. And this time i was taking Ibuprofen for all aches. Anyway, i began to let diet play a part in my headache journey and also not forgetting the required amount of water and even much more a day. Slowly i went back to panadol and left the ibuprofen family for good. One important thing to take from this –  Dehydration is one of the main causes of headaches and Water is, of course, a lifesaver to most physical conditions in the body.










Never new this was so important……..

…….. But everything is important these days. If you lack a vitamin the consequences build up and you may just attribute this symptom to flu or stress. Very recently i had a really bad flu. It went on for two weeks and in the process i lost my voice. After that i started feeling so tired and i found myself sleeping off while reading, watching or even on my daily webinar meetings. I rarely doze off – this only happens when i have had less than four hours sleep in a row for two nights which, is usually not the case. The sleep actually takes over me, i began to suffer from serious fatigue.

Since i suffer from anaemia, i decided to start taking my Feroglobin syrup regularly, i also began to drink more water and even picked up my gym clothes. I thought ” maybe it is because i haven’t been exercising”. Fortunately during the flu period, i had booked a blood test with my GP surgery considering it had been a while since i did one. In the past i had lacked calcium so, i had the urge to check. What later unfolded, was a heavy shortage of vitamin D. I did the blood test in the morning and by 6pm i received a text from the GP saying i should contact them urgently. Apparently i had been lacking vitamin D for a long while. The repetitive flu, colds, joint pains etc. Generally low immunity, fatigue, and the constant drowsing/sleeping was the last straw.

Natural sunlight is the best source of vitamin D. It is also free in comparison to fish, egg yolk mushrooms and all the other D foods. Half an hour in the midday sun supplies enough radiation to produce thousands of international units of  vitamin D.

What Do You Wake Up With?

The average person has between 7-9 hours sleep. While you are asleep for that long, you obviously go into dehydration, hence when you wake up you are still tired. You may not feel thirsty but your body certainly is. Most people like to wake up with a cup of coffee or tea and this tends to literally wake them up in every sense of the word. Why is that? The caffeine and this applies even if the tea or coffee is decaffeinated. Yes caffeine may be good in some respects, but there are more disadvantages than advantages.

I say WAKE up with WATER

The best thing for de hydration is WATER– At least drink 500ml of water when you wake up. This applies to children and adults, and i know, that it may not be one of the most pleasant drinks to have when you wake up, but I have had to cultivate the habit by starting with 200ml then moved up. I now drink more than 500ml on some days, but not in one go.

Not only does water hydrate you:

1.It fires your metabolism up by 24% for the first one hour at least. I immediately feel alert and awake, it is an amazing feeling

2.Water also helps to flush out the toxins from your body. The kidney can only do this job excellently if it has enough clear fluid, water being the case.

First thing in the morning is best, after all the intake of food the day before. I have noticed a change in my body as the water intake on an empty stomach thoroughly cleanses my colon and gets the body ready to absorb nutrients easily. After about 1 hour i drink whatever i want excluding drinks with artificial sugars. This is usually blended fruits and /or greens, which i limit to two or three times a week. Before i take any meal whether it is small medium or large, i always have a fruit. Basically when you get up in the morning and especially since you have not eaten for about 8 hours, it is important that your first form of food for the morning is very light. The name “Breakfast” implies that you are breaking a fast.

So Hydrate yourself, Energise yourself, be Detoxified in yourself as you start your day.

Is Stomach Bloating a cause for concern

Feeling bloated, constipated

Stomach bloating can happen with or without constipation. I started noticing bloating when my first child was around two years. I traced this condition down to fresh dairy milk. I loved drinking Nesquik strawberry and banana powdered milk everyday. I would put two-three heaped spoons in a glass, shake the milk bottle and pour it in. I stopped doing this and my bloating reduced drastically. Within a year I still began to feel uncomfortable and this happened usually after I had tea or coffee which was attributed to dairy milk again. I tried powdered and carnation milk, no difference. Besides bloating pre and during your monthly cycle, it is fairly common a few years after childbirth, especially for someone like me that did not do any form of exercise apart from walks which was mainly during my journey to work. Looking back now, I began to realise that maybe some sort of regular sit-ups may have helped. If the stomach is bloating then regular exercise in that area or working out the body to affect the stomach would certainly help ease the bloating.

When i stopped my regular job the bloating seemed to get worse. I then decided to make an effort to cut down on tea or coffee drastically and because it is so addictive the only way was to stop buying it. I stopped buying coffee but had to consider the needs of others for tea. After a couple of months I was able to break the addiction, and I am so used to herbal tea now but still take coffee and tea on rare occasions.

I noticed a difference, but only for a year or so, and this was on and off. I wondered what was the cause this time? I couldn’t place my hands on anything, and decided to try eating gluten free products. I had not done any research at the time until i went to see a homeopathy practitioner. She tested me with some sort of machine attached to your thumb and, BINGO – yeast was one of the underlying causes. Wheat was the big challenge. I mean you find this in bread, biscuits and cakes which i absolutely loved. How was i going to cope? Since i found out I have been eating more of Irish bread, and anytime i eat cakes and biscuits i ensure that i take some herbal tea. My other option would be to buy wheat/gluten free flour made biscuits and cakes. I am still working on it, but also praying for a miracle.

In all of this though i had my individual peppermint, ginger and lemon/ginger herbal tea’s which relieved me a great deal especially at night. Herbal teas are great and i would recommend them to any adult.

One other thing that causes bloating for me is eating very large meals at a time. I wait till I am extremely hungry before I eat. Small meals are a must to reduce stomach bloating. It is not an easy journey, but I believe things are getting better as I have also changed my mind set to being completely positive. Find out what is causing your bloating?

Do’s to reduce bloating drastically:

*Positive mind set

*Eat the right food- non dairy cheese/milk

*Eat wheat free foods

*Eat more small meals as opposed to few large meals

*Drink herbal tea that would aid digestion and detoxification
